Cellist & Multi-instrumentalist
As a music instructor I find it important to teach my students the skills they need to feel confident in their abilities as a young musician. The first day of musical development begins with developing a goal to keep in mind. This is related to getting to know the instrument, practice schedules, and creating a path to cover certain materials. Music selections are also introduced, and descriptions of that music are discussed so that the student has a clear direction of what is asked of them to accomplish.
My background in music is very diverse. It spans from the classic art form of creating music to modern music. I’m also a multi-instrumentalist. My primary focus is in cello, but I am competent in teaching piano, guitar, and double bass, bass guitar, and percussion. I have received my B.A. in Music Education at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX. There I performed in the chamber orchestra and played as a cellist in a resident quartet. I’ve been playing cello for 16 years, and outside academics I perform with a group of colleagues in The Spheres Music ensemble. I gig with artists in various groups in the Houston, TX area, and as a solo instrumentalist.
I currently am a cello instructor for the Clear Creek Independent School District, and hold contracts with the Cypress Fairbanks School District as an orchestra director. I am recognized as a founding director of the Allegro Youth Orchestra developed by the Allegro Pearland Music Academy in Pearland, TX.
Music has been an important aspect of my life, and I consistently aim to share my passions for the unique art of music.
